Introduction The Kariah Management Division plays an important role in coordinating management and administration of mosques/suraus in the Federal Territories. Its jurisdiction is bound by the Administration of Islamic Law Act (Act 505). OBJECTIVES 1. To create an effective organisational structure in the administration of mosques and suraus 2. To form a society that respects, appreciates and loves mosque and suraus 3. To produce mosque and surau officials and staff who are trained and informed 4. To improve the level of cleanliness and pleasantness of mosques and suraus FUNCTIONS 1. Managing the administration of mosques and suraus throughout the Federal Territories 2. Supervising the pleasantness and cleanliness of mosques and suraus 3. Monitoring the applications for repair, maintenance and development of mosques and suraus 4. Supervising programmes of imarah and takmir of mosques and suraus 5. Coordinating the management of Islamic burial grounds 6. Preparing the text of Friday sermons and sermons in multimedia format 7. Processing appointments of Imam Ratibs, assistant bilals, takmir teachers and committee members of mosques and suraus 8. Coordinating training for officials and committee members of mosques and suraus 9. Processing remuneration payments and allowances to Imam Ratibs, assistant bilals, takmir teachers and committee members of mosques 10. Organising the officiating of mosques and the royal visits of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong THE KARIAH MANAGEMENT DIVISION IS DIVIDED INTO 4 SECTIONS:- 1. Kariah Coordination & Planning Section 2.
